Valeo launches the 4th edition of its “Valeo Innovation Challenge 2017” competition, offering students from around the world and their academic teachers the opportunity to become players in automotive innovation.

THE CHALLENGE : VALEO INNOVATION CHALLENGE 2017

Valeo is offering young students worldwide the opportunity to make the car of 2030 and the way it's used more intelligent, intuitve, green and fun. Comprising teams of two to five people, students from any discipline can take part by presenting a relevant, innovative project in English. The aim is to stimulate the students’ creativity, enabling them to form multidisciplinary teams..

The Valeo Innovation Challenge is part of Valeo’s innovation strategy, supported by the company’s annual Research and Development budget of over €1 billion.

WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE CHALLENGE?

The aim of the contest is to reward an innovative automobile-related project in two categories: technological innovation and ideas for new ways of using cars. The Challenge offers students from around the world the opportunity to become players in automotive innovation. They are invited to come up with an innovation which would, between now and 2030, make the car and the way it is used more intelligent, intuitive, green and fun.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE ?

Each team must appoint a leader who will represent it. The leader will be the Valeo contact person. The leader must act as coordinator with the other team members which can include for the first time a teacher (faculty) and personally handle the use and possible sharing of Valeo’s financial participation in the project expenses (check article 12 of the Rules)..It should be noted that Valeo will not accept any claims in this regard.

Phase 1 : REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION

SUBMISSION : 10/14/2016 : Team registration and project submission

EVALUATION : 02/17/2017 : Project compliance validation Evaluation of projects

RESULTS : 03/03/2017 : Announcement of the 24 semi-finalists

Phase 2 : PROOF OF CONCEPT

SUBMISSION : 03/25/2017 : Launch of proof of concept

EVALUATION : 07/13/2017 : Proof of concept submission deadline

RESULTS : 09/13/2017 : Announcement of the 8 finalists

Phase 3 : FINAL PRESENTATION

PRESENTATION : 10/26/2017 : Presentation of the finalist projects to the Jury

RESULTS : 10/27/2017 : Awards ceremony
