Automated Intelligent Power Saving System and DTMF based Multiple Appliances Control.

The purpose of this project is to save the power used in places like Libraries, staircases, parking, gardens etc. where lots of power is wasted unnecessarily by keeping the fans Television and lights ON even when there is no One present, and also at places, we can control the multiple appliances like bulb TV Fan etc. Thus, using the same machine, it can be used to save the power using a simple sensor called Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensor and control the multiple appliances using DTMF decoder connected by a mobile.

When a person enters the monitored area, the Infrared energy Emitted from the living body is focused by a Fresnel lens segment and the PIR sensor activates, and gives to the microcontroller which acts as a power saving device according to the Input given by sensor. Consider a situation a person goes out without switching off the Television, as nobody is present hence it will be wasting power, hence by using PIR sensor, if a human motion is not detected for a specific amount of time the TV should be turned off to save power.

By Using DTMF we can control the lamp and fan by making it may be ON or OFF. Thus, this project discusses the concept of how PIR sensor works to save the energy and how by using DTMF we can control the home multiple appliances. Moreover, as there is need to save the energy as much as possible so as to meet the future generation and also in order to remotely control the appliances, this proposed model would be a great aid to the society.

Components Required:

Below components can be used to implement the project.

  1. ARM 7 Micro Controller
  2. Regulated power supply unit
  3. Main supply unit
  4. Mobile handset with 3.5 mm Jack
  5. DTMF Decoder
  6. Bulb or LED
  7. Relays
  8. PIR Sensor

Applications of the project

With the Use of DTMF, we can control from the remote areas by using a Mobile. Hence this Project can be used in Automatic control and Saving of the Energy remotely using Mobile. As this project discusses the concept of how PIR sensor works to save the energy and how by using DTMF we can control the home multiple appliances, this project best suits for the needs of Home Automation. Moreover, as there is need to save the energy as much as possible so as to meet the future generation and also in order to remotely control the appliances, this proposed model will have immense Scope.
